A Trip To the Pumpkin Patch

I love Halloween.  And I love fall.  I think October is probably my favorite month.  And since this is our first year in a house, I really wanted to go get a pumpkin.  And I really wanted to take the dogs and have their picture taken in the pumpkin patch (ok, it was the front lawn of a local church but I'm calling it a pumpkin patch).

I was SO excited!  I just knew we were going to have super cute pictures of the boys with the pumpkins... I should have known better.  You would think, after all this time, I would know better.  Hey, like John Lennon said, "You may say I'm a Dreamer, but I'm not the Only One." I dreamed of cute pictures of my boys.

First, we had to make a pit stop at Kroger.

Dad went in, and we waited in the car.

We waited impatiently for Dad

And looked out the window

And waited

And took pictures
Pretty sure this is the best picture of Scouty I've ever gotten

Waited some more....

Then Scout decided he would drive backwards

And then we FINALLY got to go to the pumpkin patch

They just love a good car ride

Needless to say, the boys were a little distracted

Unfortunately, there was another dog at the pumpkin patch, so it took a REALLY long time to get the boys settled enough to take some pictures.  Like a really really long time.  I was sort of an emotional disaster.  Especially since the other dog (a little white fluffy yorkie lap dog) sat amongst the pumpkins and gladly posed for pictures.  The dog also had a baby companion and the two took pictures together.  Talk about pissing me off BIG TIME.

Finally, Buddy decided to take some good ones

Out of all the pictures, this is THE ONLY ONE where they are both semi-looking at the camera

Then we got some kid to take our picture.  Why is it off center?  Don't know...
but I don't want to crop it because then you don't know we are in a pumpkin patch!
So that was our big adventure.  We ended up getting 3 small pumpkins to go on our steps.  I should have taken a picture, but I didn't.  I was kind of done with the pictures by that point.

Now the big question is- what are they going to be for Halloween?  (Not that Scout would stay in a costume for longer than 1 second.  He'll just tear it off and then tear it to shreds... along with Buddy's costume and anything else he can get a hold of).

Workaholic

Hi, remember me?  The Fashionable wife?  Long time, no blog huh?  I used to be so good at blogging.  And I want to blog.  I just don't have the time right now.

My name is Nikki, and I am a workaholic.  Yes, I admit it.  I am 100000% a workaholic.  I have been doing SO much lately that I can't even keep up sometimes.  I've sort of taken on the appearance of a zombie.

Here is a glimpse into what I have going on:

I am working full time- 40 hours a week.  5 days a week.  On my hour lunch break, I work on my computer.  Sometimes I work really crazy hours, like have to be at work at 3AM.  Or not leave until 11PM.  I'm exhausted just from this.

When I am not at my full time job, I am on my computer.  I have been doing some freelance ad design for a magazine, which has been keeping me rather busy, but is a great way of meeting new clients and doing some work for them.  Hoping this will lead to them wanting to use me in the future.

I have also been doing a lot of designing in my etsy shop.  Holiday cards mostly.  Here are a few:

All of these and more are available on my etsy shop.

I just finished doing some holiday images that are now available as name cards for gifts.

I also designs some party decorations for a wresting party, am working on some things for another party, designed some engagement party invites and some baby cards for gifts.

I've also been planning some big things in the upcoming months.  Delightful Designs etsy shop is taking on a whole new project soon.  I am also going to be in a holiday show coming up.  And I have plans on starting a Delightful Designs email newsletter.  Let me know if you want to be on the list!  I sure would be excited to have some people on my email list!

Hope you all are doing well!  Someday, I hope to be able to catch up on blog reading.

XOXO
