I am all about white in the summer, especially white dresses and skirts. In my opinion, these are the top summer staples (which is a topic I’ll be talking about soon). They are just so fresh and light.
If you get my monthly newsletter, then this dress may look familiar to you since it was one of my May Must Haves. Last year, I wanted this dress so bad, but by the time I went to get it, it was sold out. Luckily, it is back this year, so of course I jumped at the chance to get it.
The dress is actually a white denim (super soft denim too!), with an unfinished hem, and I absolutely love it. What I really love about it is how versatile it is. The fact that it is a sleeveless shift gives you a lot of styling options, plus I think it is a flattering look on a lot of people. You can’t really tell it is denim until you are right up on it, which means I think you can get away with wearing it a lot more places, especially since everything is a little more relaxed in the summer. Plus it has pockets!
Of course, the simplest way to wear this dress is on its own. Pair it with a hat and fun sandals for a great weekend or vacation look. For evening, lose the hat and sandals and go with a heeled sandal (these palm print sandals would be fabulous).
If you are wanting to dress this LWD up a little bit for either the office or perhaps an evening date (and you get cold like me), a pair of espadrille wedges and a light cardigan is the way to go. You could also go with a ballet flat or loafer for the office if you don’t want to do sandals.
Another great styling option is to layer underneath with a lightweight blouse or t-shirt. I wore this the other day to work and got so many compliments.
A few other ideas – a chambray shirt either layered over OR under, a denim jacket, or a lightweight blazer.
Of course, these styling types work for just about any simple white dress (preferably sleeveless so you can do the layering). But, if you are in need of a new white dress, I highly recommend this one. I’ll be wearing it all summer long!
