August is here and the summer is starting to wind down, school are back, the fall clothes are out, and I am getting a little tired of my summer clothes. It is kind of hard to believe to me that we are getting close to fall. To be honest, I am never ready for the summer to end, but I am always excited about new fall clothes. (Note – I am NEVER happy about winter. Ever. For any reason.)
So now is the time I start pulling out all of my very favorite summer pieces to make sure I get to wear them at least one more time before I oh so very slowly start transitioning to fall. Sure we still have a few more months of heat, but as I said I very slowly transition. One of those pieces I will be wearing several more times before fall is my white skirt.
Sometimes the simplest looks are the best. Pairing a chambray shirt and a white skirt together is an easy, classic look perfect for this time of year. I’ve had both the shirt and skirt for several years, which means this is a look you can go to year after year after year. And those looks are always the best in my book. Add a straw bag and some sandals and you are ready to go.
Of course, you could easily wear this into September and maybe go for a long sleeve chambray skirt and some open to booties to make it feel a little like fall. I completely ignore the white after Labor Day rule. Sure I am probably not going to wear an all white look in October, but I think mixing your white pieces in with fall pieces a great way to transition!
So are you hanging on to summer for dear life? Or are you anxiously awaiting fall? What are some of your favorite pieces that you making sure you wear before fall?
