I love to be organized. And I love to organize things. And the more I have going on, the more it helps for me to be extremely organized. So today, I am talking about blog organization.
The more I do with the blog, the more I find it helps to be organized in this area as well. It all started with the editorial calendar. I realized that, for me, having a blog editorial calendar is really helpful. About a year ago, I started working on an editorial calendar. I took my planner and wrote what I was blogging about each day or things I was planning on writing about in the future. That worked for a while. But I found myself having more and more post-it notes stuck in my planner about blog ideas, and drafts in my email with ideas for outfits or post ideas. Oh and a notebook in my purse that I would scribble notes on and to do lists… So I finally realized that I needed to have one place for all of it. Yes, I could still make notes in email drafts, or write to do lists in notebooks, but I needed one place to house all (or most) of my blog information.
And then I read this post. It was mostly about making an editorial book, but then I realized mine could be so much more. And I LOVE a good craft project!
This is my new blog book. It has become the best way for me to stay organized and keep everything in one place.

I decided to divide my book into 5 sections: Editorial Calendar, Ideas, Collaborations, Resources and Financial. I created monthly and weekly calendars for my editorial sections, and color code the topics. And I have everything color coded… because I like to use colored highlighters and sharpies whenever I can.
I now keep my weekly to do lists on large post-it pages on the week. I find it helps me to stay focused, plus if I have something I need to do in two weeks, I can go ahead and put it on that week’s list.
So how do you keep your blog organized? If you want to create a similar blogging book, I can email you my blank calendar pages and ideas pages. Just let me know!
