So far this year, I have changed up my skincare routine, my curly hair products, and most recently I decided to try some new makeup products. For someone who doesn’t handle change well, that is a lot.
Let me start by saying I am not and have never been a big makeup kind of girl. It has never been a big interest of mine, and I am honestly too lazy and too impatient to spend more than about 5 minutes on it. However, I am 31 (32 on Thursday), so I decided that maybe I should put just a little more effort in … sometimes.
I, like I’m sure a lot of you, have been seeing a lot about Glossier products and seeing the rave reviews. Two things that made me decide to give them a go – first I liked the idea of looking glowy, which is what I kept reading over and over, and I liked that it didn’t seem to be heavy duty.
So after some research, I went for it. Here are the products I ended up trying:
Skin Tint – The skin tint gives you just a little bit of all over color, evens you out, makes you look smooth. It isn’t like a foundation because it is super light. I put this on first. It comes in 5 shades, and I decided to go with medium.
Stretch Concealer – This is what it says, a concealer, but not like a heavy, cakey concealer. It is incredibly smooth and silky going on, almost like a cream. This also comes in 5 shades and again I went with medium.
Cloud Paint – Cloud paint is their cream blush. I read somewhere that powder makes you look older, so I was excited to try a cream. These are meant to be blended, so I tried two – dusk, which is a brownish nude and beam, a soft peach. I didn’t want anything too pink, but they do have 6 shades to choose from.
Sheer Matte Lipstick – I ordered their sheer matte lipstick but it would seem it is currently unavailable on the site (but coming soon). I really liked it because it wasn’t too much. Unfortunately I lost it, and I am rather upset about it. I have searched EVERYWHERE but it must have fallen out of my purse somewhere. I am not sure what color I got, since I can’t see on the website and of course I lost mine, but it was a light red-ish color.
Lash Stick – I really needed some new mascara, even though I have mostly been wearing my glasses lately. (I’ve always struggled with contacts and recently developed an allergy to the build up that forms on my contacts). But since I was ordering some things, I thought I should go ahead and get it as well. It is light, but does the job, and it somehow doesn’t seem to clump which is amazing.
They arrived in this cute little pouch, and I am now keeping it all in there because I liked it. A+ for packaging and presentation.
Now, I haven’t been wearing this every day. I work in an office and I have very little interaction with people during the day, so I still keep the makeup to a minimum at this point. But I have worn it out a few times, and I really like it. It is a little more makeup than I normally wear, but I don’t feel like I’m entering a beauty pageant.
I haven’t tried any of their skincare products yet, but I will definitely give them a try in the future, since I am really happy with the make up.
A quick note – I have super sensitive skin, especially around my eyes. Like, I can’t wear eye shadow because my eye lids are so sensitive. But I haven’t had any issues with this so far.
Have you tried any of the Glossier products? If so, what did you think?
