This past weekend, my hubby and I went to New Orleans for my friend Lindsey’s bachelorette party. It was so HOT but SO SO much FUN! It was Charlie’s first time in NOLA, so I had to show him all the sights!
We ate lunch on Friday at Acme Oyster house. It was delicious! No oil on those oysters!!! I had fried catfish and fried oysters. Charlie had a po boy. And before that he had a dozen raw oysters.
I’ll eat a lot of things, but raw oysters is one thing I won’t eat!!
After lunch, we went to see Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral, French Market… we just roamed!
Charlie tried to break in to the Beauregard-Keye house. He loves anything old.
See him up there banging on the door??
We ate dinner that night at Mr. B’s. I had the most amazing chocolate cupcake. I have pulled the description off their website for your enjoyment “CHOCOLATE MOLTEN CUP CAKE – An individually baked rich, chocolate cake with a fudgy center, topped with vanilla ice-cream and raspberry sauce.” I should have taken a picture, but I ate it so fast I forgot… Oh yea, dinner was really good too.
Drinks in the Pat O’s courtyard. Of course we ordered hurricanes…
But we were not impressed. I remembered them tasting a WHOLE lot better. We’ll go back to beer, thanks!
I blame the hurricane for the reason I woke Charlie in the middle of the night telling him I was dying and to please call the front desk for Peptobismal. I know what you all are thinking… and no I wasn’t rip roaring drunk or hung over. I barely drank! I think it was a combo of the heat, the heavy food and that hurricane. Charlie ended up walking to a CVS at 1 in the morning. I took the Pepto and went right back to sleep… he stayed up reading until 3. Sorry hubs!
The next day we went on a riverboat ride down the Mississippi. It was lots of fun!
Charlie was kind of mad they didn’t let us eat lunch (we didn’t pay for lunch to be included), but I still wasn’t 100% from the night before so I was OK with no lunch.
New Orleans sky line! Charlie kept going to the steam room and asking them questions. I’m pretty sure they told him not to come back, but he never admitted they kicked him out.
This little baby was the BEST THING EVER! It rained after we got off the river boat, so we ducked into the Hard Rock for some drinks and nachos (normally, we wouldn’t go some place like that, but it was raining and there was an empty table). And I found this. It is basically a pina colada, but they used Raspberry Skyy and real strawberries. Oh my, it was wonderful. I like Pina Coladas anyways, but with Strawberries and raspberries… HEAVEN!!! I think I drank it in like 2 minutes. Had I known it was only like $6, I would have gotten a second (I was expecting more like $12).
Here is the bachelorette party before we went to eat! From Left to right Me, our sister Ashley (I shall explain later), Willow, Alex, Lindsey the Bride, Alicia, Rachel and Lexi. Aren’t we all so cute? I actually got that dress to wear to Lindsey’s wedding (its from Anthropologie… one of me and Lindsey’s fave places ever!), but then I found another dress to wear to the wedding and decided to wear this one to the bachelorette party.
If you want to know the truth, I found this super cute BCBG dress that was ON SALE at the Canal Shops, but Charlie told me if I got it, then I couldn’t eat dinner that night or eat the next day or the next or the next… You see where this is going. Then he wouldn’t go back with me OR let me walk by myself to go back. He said I didn’t need another new dress. He doesn’t realize i ALWAYS NEED A NEW DRESS!!!
We ate dinner at NOLA (Emeril’s restaurant) and it was GOOD. I had baked oysters (see a pattern? I like oysters, just make sure they are cooked) and a caesar salad. YUMMY!
Here I am with our sister Ashley… actually its Lindsey’s sister Ashley but I adopted her as my sister too. I’m an only child, and if I had a sister, she would be like Ashley. So now she is our sister. Im actually not so sure she even knows that I call her our sister, so um Ashley if you read this, I adopted you as a sister! She is lots of fun and super sweet. And she loves to shop! What more could you want in an adopted sister??
The beautiful bride!
We are HOT. I wish you could see that Lindsey has a necklace on with dangling dicks (I normally wouldn’t use that work but it sounds better that way). Lindsey feels she looks a little like Elton John in her glasses, and I tend to agree.
The next morning we went to Cafe du Monde early so Charlie could have beignets.
Yea, hubby definitely liked them. The powdered sugar is all over his face! YUM!!
We were sad to leave, but so happy to see our baby! But we did see something that really reminded us of him a lot!
Sure does look a lot like Buddy!! Especially the blue one!!
