It is actually starting to feel like fall here! This is very exciting, especially considering we were still having temps in the low 90s early last week. I think it is safe to say that fall is really, officially here now!
So this is the second item that I bought from Draper James on my big trip to Nashville (see the dress here). I have this same print in a dress in a lighter blue that I got this summer (see how I styled it for fall here), but I just love the navy background. So instead of buying the same dress in the same print just 2 different colors, I decided to get the magnolia print skirt. And I love it! It is honestly pretty seasonless – I would wear it year round except maybe not in the dead of winter. Plus, it has pockets so obviously is a winner!
I wore this outfit a couple of weekends ago when Charlie and I went out, which is really rare these days. I got him tickets for his birthday to see the symphony perform the music to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone while the movie plays, and we had SO much fun. The audience is supposed to be loud, so people were clapping and cheering and booing. It was really fun. If you are a Harry Potter fan and it comes to your area, I highly recommend it.
When the weather cools off, I am really looking forward to transitioning this skirt with some booties or riding boots and a sweater like this one. It will also be really cute on the weekends with some sneakers and a denim jacket. You can also pair it with heels and a navy or camel blazer for the office and it would be so cute! The older I get, the more I believe in the versatility of pieces in your closet. You should be able to wear things multiple ways and really make them work for you, and this skirt is definitely one of those pieces.
One other thing – I told you I was bringing back the headbands! Ever since I got my hair all cut off, I have been wanting to get back into headbands. I recently ordered 4 from J. Crew and I am super excited about wearing them. Unfortunately now I just want MORE. But I love this grosgrain one with the jewels. It made me feel extra fancy. Just call me Queen B.
