So by now I am sure everyone has not only heard about the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, but you are probably tired of hearing about it. In case you have missed it, the Nordstrom Anniversary sale started last week. The sale is currently going on for Nordstrom credit card holders, but it opens to everyone tomorrow.
There is always an insane frenzy around the sale – especially among bloggers. I don’t have the Nordstrom credit card, so I haven’t done any shopping. I honestly think about getting one every year. And Charlie tells me to get one every year, but I always convince myself to wait – if whatever it is I want is meant to be, I will get it when it opens to everyone.
It is a great time to shop though. SO much is on sale. And it is a really good time to get a jump start on those fall pieces. Brand new fall merchandise is on sale!
So since the sale opens to the public tomorrow and I am going to be doing some shopping, I thought I would share my top picks from the sale. And I promise this will be my one and only Nordstrom sale blog post. Hang on tight though because it is a longer one.
It is a little hard for me to get into the fall thinking when it is like 110 degrees outside, but you do what you have to for a good sale. My suggestion is to really look at the bigger ticket items – shoes, bags, coats. Of course there is a lot of great stuff all around, but those are things that cost more and are on sale before the season even starts!
This pink blazer is my number 1 pick from the sale and my number 1 most wanted piece. I LOVE blazers, and J. Crew makes the best blazers. And in PINK? Yes please. If this is available in my size tomorrow morning, I will be purchasing it. I am also in love with this bow front cropped tweed jacket.
My second top pick from the sale are these booties. I got a similar pair last year from the sale (see them here and here), and I love them! I wore them all fall and winter long, and I strongly suggest you get this pair while it is on sale.
You can’t go wrong with a trench coat. They are great for fall and spring, and are always a classic piece. This one comes with a quilted vest as well, so you can wear either piece on its own, or layer the vest underneath for added warmth.
I am not even a pants girl, but I love these tie waist ankle pants! They remind me of something Katharine Hepburn would have worn. They would be so cute with a blouse or a tee or simple sweater (like this one). I really love these.
Madewell makes super cute bags, and I love this perforated crossbody. It comes in two colors – linen and a chocolate brown. While I can see the darker being great for winter, I am really loving the linen color!
I still love blush pink, and these ballet flats are the perfect shade of pink. Tory Burch shoes are a classic, so when you can get them on sale, I say go for it.
I have this shirt (or a similar version) in red and white stripe and I love it. You can start wearing it now, and through the fall. There is a navy and pale pink combo that I am seriously considering. The other color options are navy and white, and green and white. Also, there is a solid color shirt that looks really similar (not J. Crew) in 6 color options.
Now is a great time to get boots. I got a pair of black over the knee boots several years ago, but I really am into these suede tan ones (they also come in a grey which I also love and black). They also come in wide calf.
I LOVE this leopard print dress. I love the shape, I love the print, I love it all. It is perfect for early fall when you want to look more fallish but don’t want to sweat to death. And later you can layer a sweater or a jacket over and pair it with tights and boots. And if you are looking for a more casual dress, I love this varsity knit shift!
This classic button front skirt is perfect to pair with riding boots and a sweater. I love the red, but it also comes in navy and tan. So you might as well just get all 3 (I know I want to!). There is also a similar button front skirt in plaid that is really cute as well.
I couldn’t not include a scarf on my list of must haves. I am such a scarf girl in the winter, and a blanket scarf is always a good choice to keep you warm. This pale pink and tan blanket scarf is definitely on my wish list (because I really need another scarf). This red plaid scarf is also really cute and super fall-ish.
I love the vintage looking pjs, and this striped set is too cute. You can never have too many pairs of pjs.
And if athleisure is your thing (as it is mine), I’ve got a few ideas for you too! It is a good time to update your workout clothes (or weekend wear). I love these Zella leggings and am thinking they are an add to cart item. They would be super cute with this crop tank. Also add to cart – this striped hoodie and matching joggers (there are shorts as well). I might not leave my house all weekend if I was in these. I also love the long sleeve tees, like this Nike top.
Also, if you are in the market for a pair of Hunter rain boots, the tall black pair is on sale for $100 and the short black pair is on sale for $90.. And my philosophy face wash and exfoliating wash are also on sale.
Remember after the sale, everything goes back to full price. The sale goes through August 5th.
So that concludes my crazy long post about the sale! Have you already shopping the sale? If so, what did you get? If not, are you planning on shopping it? If so, what is on your wishlist?
