Hello again! If you have tried to visit my site in the last week and a half, you might have noticed it was … gone. Actually, the correct wording would be “Suspended.” One day it just said “Account Suspended.” So what should you do if this happens to you? Read on for my words of wisdom…
So after extreme panicking and multiple frantic emails (special thanks to my pals Ashley, Sarah and Laurel for calming me and trying to help me figure it out), I started contacting people. My blog is through WordPress.org. If you use WordPress.org, this is not the place to go. I learned through several emails, tweets, rants, etc, that basically WordPress.org just facilitates your blog. They don’t really have the info on it and they aren’t going to be the ones to suspend it.
Your HOST is who you want to contact, if this ever happens to you (if you are self hosted). My host is A Small Orange, and I have had good luck with them in the past two years. It took me over a week to get it unsuspended, a few live chats, and finally I had to take to twitter to beg for a status update, which resulted in them un-suspending my blog. Twitter is remarkably effective for hounding people and begging for help.
Still don’t know the reason why it happened, but the good news is it is unsuspended (for now?). But the moral of the story is – if you bug people enough and lots of people, someone will eventually help you.
Have a great day!
